Add value to your home with a built-in lattice by concealing unpleasant views, and adding height to create greater privacy.
Our Process
The paling fence is built following the same process as a standard paling fence only the posts finish 600mm above the height of the palings to allow for the built-in-lattice. A four-rail system is used. The first two rails are installed as in standard paling fences, with the third rail positioned to support the top of the palings and to secure the base of the lattice. The fourth rail is installed 600mm above the finished height of the palings, flush with the top of the posts, providing additional support for the lattice.
The built-in lattice, which typically comes in sheets of 2700mm x 600mm, is attached between the third and fourth rails. This setup provides a seamless integration of lattice into the fence structure.
Treated pine capping is then fixed to the top of the lattice and top rail. Using 75mm x 14-guage galvanised hex head bugle screws, the capping is secured at 450mm intervals. This method ensures a strong and durable attachment that will withstand the elements.
