A paling fence with capping is similar to a standard paling fence, only that it is finished with a top rail that looks attractive and extends the fence life.
Our Process
1
Strong foundation
The paling fence is built much like a standard paling fence, but with one key variation. The post is finished so that it aligns with the top of the palings, and the top rail is also trimmed to align with the post and the palings. This guarantees consistent height, which is essential for correctly installing the capping.
2
Capping
The treated pine capping is then fixed to the top of the palings and top rail. Using 75mm x 14-guage galvanised hex head bugle screws, the capping is secured at 450mm intervals. This method ensures a strong and durable attachment that will withstand the elements.
