Capping

A paling fence with capping is similar to a standard paling fence, only that it is finished with a top rail that looks attractive and extends the fence life.

Our Process

The post finishes level with the top of the palings and the top rail is cut into the post to also finish level with the top of the palings.

Posts are placed 750mm in the ground and stabilised using 10kg of cement stabilised soil.

A capping timber is then nailed to the top. Capping joints are mitered and nailed with 75mm galvanised nail at 450 spacing.
